| My passions throughout my life have been art and animals. Ever since I can recall, I have been fascinated, enraptured and enthralled with animals. I have always felt compelled to express that fascination on paper or canvas, in pen, pencil or paint. I am self described an impressionistic abstraction painter of fauna. My objective is to combine the colors I use to obtain the "aura" or personality quality of the subject. When working on commissioned pieces, I often ask the pet owner what their animal’s personality is like, to get a better feel of what colors I will use. |
These portraits take on a thermal quality, unique to each. I emerged publicly as an artist in 1995.
In that time, I have completed over 4000 original pieces. I have attended numerous art shows, won several awards; have my work in several galleries around the country.
I have taught art classes to children as well as adults. I have also donated many original artworks to diverse wildlife organizations, the SPCA humane society and the juvenile
diabetes foundation. When I was a child, if you asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, the answer was always the same, an artist. Today, that child is very very happy.
